To Stavoren from the marina in Warns it is about 3 km sailing to the IJsselmeer on this canal towards West, if you want to sail on the Frisian lakes it is about 5 km to the Fluessen and the Heegermeer. In short, Warns is an ideal base for both the IJsselmeer and boat trips through Friesland, the Frisian lakes area! Many sailors do the round Warns-Stavoren-Enkhuizen-Lemmer- through the canals and via the Princes Margriet canal and the Frisian lakes back to the Base in Warns. If you have more time, you can also visit Sneek and then return via IJlst to Warns. This route can be sailed in about 1 week. However, if you have only booked a weekend, you could for example only go to Enkhuizen or the other direction from Sneek.
